Second Arrest Made After Video Surfaces Showing 11 Year-Old Taking Shots Of Alcohol

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second person for contributing to the delinquency of a minor following a video posted of social media.

The video reportedly shows an 11 year-old child taking shots of alcohol provided to the juvenile by an adult.  The video was reported by a concerned citizen on January 11th to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Officers were reportedly able to view the video.

Deputies went to an address on Old Creech Road near Selma and arrested 27 year-old Melissa Ann Jackson of Selma for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Jackson had reportedly been looking after the juvenile when the incident occurred.

The sheriff’s office has now charged a second person, 31 year-old David Blaney Hocutt Jr. of Old Creech Road, Selma with the same offense.  Hocutt was also charged with felony probation violation.

The Department of Social Services was notified of the Jan. 11th incident.
