A Smithfield man awaiting trial in connection with a large indoor marijuana growing operation in 2017 is facing new charges following a second drug bust at his same Brogden area home.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant on Oct. 3rd at a home on Red House Road and reportedly seized a large quantity of steroids. Agents also seized marijuana and Xanax.   Agents also said they found a small indoor marijuana grow operation at the residence of 46 year-old Charles Christopher Braswell.

Braswell was free on bail at the time of his Oct. 3 arrest following an August 2017 drug bust at the same home where a large indoor marijuana growing operation was reportedly found and more than 50 plants were seized.
Braswell is now charged with 5 felony drug violations. He was jailed Wednesday under a $1 million bond.

A second person, Geneva Logan Lee, 27, of New King Road, Smithfield was also charged with possession of methamphetamines after the Oct. 3rd incident after a small amount of suspected meth was found in her possession. Lee was given a $10,000 bond.
