Selma Police Searching For Armed And Dangerous Murder Suspects

Selma Police are asking for assistance locating two suspects wanted for the murder of a 47 year-old man found shot to death in his truck around 11:00pm Thursday on Highway 301 near Poole Drive.  The victim was identified as Michael John Boyle Jr. of Charlotte.

Police Chief Billy Thomas said detectives have identified two suspects who are wanted on murder warrants.

Daniel Antonio Surles, 30, of the 3900 block of Highway 70 Business East, Smithfield and Gilbert Lee King Jr., 25, of Hawkins Road, Selma are considered to be armed and dangerous.

Surles is 5 foot 8, 280 pounds, with long dreads. King is 5 foot 8, 145 pounds with short hair and a tattoo of “Prissla” on his wrist.

Chief Thomas said additional charges have not been ruled out. A motive still remains under investigation.
