A Smithfield man on the NC Sex Offender Registry was arrested by a deputy sheriff on Friday during a traffic stop.
Rodney Shane Peedin, 43, of Braswell Road was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to register his address as a sex offender.
According to the Registry, Peedin was convicted in August 2011 for taking indecent liberties with a minor. He was sentenced to 18 months confinement following the conviction.
Peedin was given a $20,000 secured bond after his arrest on Friday.
