BENSON – A man shot and seriously wounded last month at a Benson-area home was arrested Thursday on 14 felony charges.
On March 26th at 1:49pm, Johnston County deputies responded to a shooting at 786 Woodall Dairy Road. Officers said Steven Shane Moore, 36, of Parkertown Road, Four Oaks had been shot in his chest during an altercation with his uncle, Michael Edward Langdon, 63, of Gilbert Road, Benson. Moore was treated at WakeMed for a serious but non-life threatening wound. Langdon was charged that same day with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
During the shooting investigation at the Woodall Dairy Road property, officers reportedly saw what appeared to be stolen construction materials. Deputies returned with a search warrant and reportedly seized doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, granite counter tops and a AC unit that had been stolen from job sites in Johnston County.
The items were linked to thefts dating back to June 2020 on Benson-Hardee Road, Benson; Shakespeare Drive, Clayton; Landfall Lane, Smithfield; and Sweet Tater Lane, Benson.
Moore was incarcerated Thursday on a $100,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail. Michael Edward Langdon, remains in custody being held on a $75,000 bond for the alleged shooting of Moore, his nephew. A motive for the shooting has not been released.
