Shoplifting Suspect Trespassed From All Walmart Stores

45-year-old Kristi Lynn Price of Red Oak Drive in Smithfield is charged with pretending to scan items in the self-checkout of the Clayton Walmart, leaving the store with the items and then coming back in the store to return the stolen items for cash.

This incident happened on Tuesday, January 15th around 8:30 p.m.  The Loss Prevention Officer at Walmart called Clayton Police after observing a woman, who was with two other men, reportedly purchase items but place several other items in her cart that she did not scan or purchase. She left the store, went to a minivan and then took two items she had allegedly not paid for back into the store to return for cash.

When a Clayton police officer arrived, he went to the minivan and began to talk to the men, and the woman eventually came out of the store to the van. After questioning and checking receipts, Price was charged with stealing a bottle of laundry detergent and a container of coffee and receiving $36.22 in cash.

Police said that Price, who is unemployed, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and misdemeanor larceny. She was also trespassed at Walmart and is no longer allowed to go into any Walmart stores at any location.
