A Smithfield man was jailed under a $2.2 million bond after his arrest last week.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the arrest followed an undercover drug investigation that began in April 2018 culminating with the arrest of the suspect on April 16, 2019.
32 year-old Joshua Lorenzo Martin of Jethro Circle, Smithfield had been the focus of an investigation by narcotics agents involving the illegal possession, sell and deliver of heroin in the Johnston County area. No additional details were released.
Martin was arrested on six felony charges stemming from the investigation including possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin. He was also served with arrest warrants for failing to appear in court on charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, driving while impaired, and driving on a revoked license.
Martin was also charged with felony probation violation.
His total bond was placed at $2,254,000.
