A Smithfield man was robbed at gunpoint inside his own home. Smithfield Police said Wednesday they are following up on several leads in the case.
WTSB News has learned the robbery happened around 10:15pm last Friday night at the 301 Mobile Home Park at 2003 South Brightleaf Boulevard. A 54 year-old man said a woman knocked on his door and asked for another woman by name. Police Captain R. Sheppard said the name mentioned was a person the victim was familiar with and opened the door.
Afterwards a handgun was produced and the victim was forced back into his home and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and his cell phone.
Police are searching for a white female, black female, and black male in connection with the incident. The victim was not injured.
