In commemoration of their 50th Anniversary, Smithfield Selma High School will honor all SSS basketball players and coaches of the past in a weekend of celebration.
Events include Alumni Night on Friday, January 24th during a home game between Smithfield Selma High and Clayton High. SSS will be honoring all SSS Basketball Alumni from both programs during both the games. Players and coaches from all decades will be recognized. Women will be honored during the halftime of the girls game, and the men will be honored during halftime of the boys game.
All Men Alumni should RSVP to Matt Cuddington at email@example.com All Women Alumni should RSVP to Marlon Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to attend. Please include your graduation year or years coached. Admission is free to all former SSS basketball alumni and coaches. Game times are 6:00pm (Girls) and 7:30pm (Boys).
On Saturday, January 25th there will be Alumni Basketball Games and an Alumni Social. The Women’s Alumni Game will be held at 12 Noon, Men over 30 at 1:00pm, and Men 30 and Under at 2:00pm at the SSS gymnasium at 700 E. Booker Dairy Road.
Men wishing to participate in the Alumni Game should RSVP Matt Cuddington at email@example.com and women should RSVP to Marlon Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org There will be a $5.00 fee to play. Admission to the Alumni Game will be $5. Admission for school age children be $1.
T-shirts will be sold both days commemorating 50 years of SSS Basketball. All money raised will be used to support SSS Women’s and Men’s Basketball Programs. Donations are also welcome.
The event is being organized by Matt Cuddington, SSS Boy’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director, Marlon Lee from the Class of 1992, and Dale Ham from the Class of 1994. “Please come out and support these events as we recognize and honor the past 50 years of Spartan Basketball, and look forward to the future of Spartan Basketball,” organizers said in an email.
