Starting Saturday, June 14th, and continuing every other Saturday morning through October, Downtown Smithfield will come alive with the sights, smells, and flavors of fresh, local farm goods. From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, residents and visitors alike can shop a vibrant selection of seasonal produce, locally raised meats, fresh flowers, handmade goods, and more.

The market will be located in the Johnston County Courthouse parking lot, at the corner of Third and Johnston Streets, offering easy access and plenty of room to browse.

“This market is a win for everyone,” said DSDC Executive Director Heidi Gilmond. “It’s about supporting our local farmers, strengthening downtown commerce, and giving our community access to fresh, healthy food—while bringing more life and energy to our streets on Saturday mornings.”

The Smithfield Signature Fresh Market reflects a growing movement to support local agriculture, foster entrepreneurship, and create more vibrant, walkable downtown experiences.
