A burglary suspect who allegedly wore socks over his hands apparently to avoid leaving any fingerprints has been arrested.
Around 12:00 Noon on March 30th, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect went to a home on Shaw’s Pond Road outside of Four Oaks and was attempting to force open a door. The suspect may not have realized someone was at home. A woman inside the home looked outside as the suspect, wearing socks over both of his hands, attempted to force open a door. She began screaming causing the would-be burglar to flee before he could make entry.
On Tuesday, 16 year-old Spencer Scott Lucas of the 3000 block of Old School Road, Four Oaks was charged with attempted breaking and entering and conspiracy, both felony offenses.
Lucas was incarcerated in the Johnston County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
