Son, Girlfriend Accused Of Stealing Computer, Medicine From Mom

A Four Oaks man and his girlfriend have been arrested on felony charges stemming from a larceny reported by his own mother.

The 62 year-old victim said someone entered her home in the 2300 block of Highway 96 South of Four Oaks and stole a HP laptop computer valued at $200 and prescription medication valued at $100. The theft was reported July 16th.

Investigators with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office later found the stolen laptop at a Clayton pawnshop.  They allege the victim’s own son, 35 year-old Daniel Lee Baker of the 2600 block of Highway 96 South, and his girlfriend 48 year-old Lisa Marie Scott of Raleigh, stole the laptop and pawned it.

Baker and Scott were arrested Aug. 13th and charged with misdemeanor larceny and felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Baker was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $10,000 bond. Scott was held under a $25,000 bond.
