Stolen Debit Card Used To Make $1,016 In Charges

A woman who allegedly stole a debit card in December was able to make $1,016 in unauthorized charges before the theft was discovered and the card cancelled.

On December 21st, a 66 year-old Johnston County man reported his debit card, which his wife kept, had been used multiple times without their permission to make charges.  Among those charges were purchases made at the ABC Store in Smithfield, Walmart in Smithfield, Bojangles in Princeton, Short Stop in Selma, and Sheetz on Highway 70 in Clayton.

Surveillance video was used to identify the suspect as Elnora Andrea Green, 37, of the 5700 block of Hickory Crossroads Road, Princeton.

Green reportedly worked as a temporarily worker alongside the victim’s wife at Grifol’s in Clayton about the time the theft occurred.

Green was charged Jan. 4th with financial card theft, financial card fraud and identity theft. All the charges are felonies.  She was confined in the Johnston County Jail on Jan. 4th under a $50,000 secured bond.
