An investigation by Goldsboro Police and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a Princeton man on burglary charges.
On February 16th, Goldsboro Police responded to a burglary on E. New Hope Road. The victim reported someone had entered his residence and stolen several items including a firearm.
Police developed 34 year-old Billy Wayne Saunders of Old Rock Quarry Road, Princeton as a suspect. On Wednesday, deputies and police detectives went to his home and reportedly found some of the property stolen during the break-in at the address.
Saunders was also allegedly caught with heroin and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Saunders, who also has an address on Lizzie Mill Road, Selma, was charged with second degree burglary, possession of a firearm by a felon, larceny of a firearm, felony larceny, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $20,000 bond on the drug charges plus an additional $70,000 bond on the theft-related offenses.
