Stranger Who Walked Inside Home Facing Charges

SMITHFIELD – A 60 year-old woman was sitting inside her Freedom Road home near Smithfield when a stranger walked in.  It happened August 18th around 7:00pm.

The victim said the complete stranger, who was heavily intoxicated, walked inside without knocking on the door. The homeowner asked the intruder to leave but she only made it as far as the front yard.  That’s when she allegedly threatened a neighbor during a verbal altercation.

Deputies arrived and took 48 year-old Dawn Leslie Brodeur of Stadium Drive, Wake Forest into custody. Brodeur was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and communicating threats. She was released on a $2,500 bond.

The victim told law enforcement that said she had never seen Brodeur before and had no idea why she went to her home.
