A 10-month investigation into a man allegedly targeting minors on the internet through social media has resulted in an arrest.
In July 2018, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said they received a tip of the alleged offenses and immediately notified the NC SBI Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
The NC SBI took over the investigation and based on evidence discovered obtained warrants against 34 year-old Brantley Morris Gurley of Oakland Church Road, Goldsboro. Gurley was arrested Thursday and charged with two felony counts of the sexual exploitation of a minor.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case and because the investigation is still ongoing, authorities did not release the ages or locations of the victims.
Gurley was given a $20,000 secured bond.
