Suspect Admits To Stealing $5,000

A man has reportedly confessed to Johnston County deputies that he stole $5,000 from his step-father.

Officers responded to a home on Jerusalem Church Road outside of Kenly on Friday afternoon after the victim called saying $5,000 in cash was missing.

After arriving on the scene, the victim’s stepson, Adolfo Vega of the same address, reportedly confessed to officers that he had taken the money.

Vega was arrested for felony larceny. He was booked into the Johnston County Jail under a $10,000 bond.

The missing money has not been recovered.
