CLAYTON – Clayton Police have arrested a suspect who reportedly broke into a Town facility and stole thousands of dollars in property.
On Wednesday, police arrested Jonathan Mikah Blanks, age 38, of Bob Lee Lane, Dunn, on multiple charges resulting from a recent break-in and larceny.

On April 5 around 5:00am, the Town of Clayton Operations Center was broken into and approximately $10,000 worth of tools, copper wiring, and other items were stolen.
Following an extensive investigation by police detectives, a search warrant was executed Wednesday at Blanks’ residence and items believed to have been stolen from the Town of Clayton were recovered. Other items believed to have been stolen were also recovered, and detectives are currently trying to identify the owners.
Banks was charged with several offenses including felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, first degree trespass, possession of stolen goods, and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
Banks was held in the Johnston County Detention Center without bond.
I hope the Judge hags you Mr. Crackhead.
I do not condone his actions whatsoever, but holding him without bond is a little extreme based on the non violent crimes. If he was breaking and entering and stealing to this extent I seriously doubt he has the ability to pay his bond to be released anyways. But I’ve never heard of somebody being held without bond on these charges. I wonder if he is still under investigation in another case or if we aren’t getting the full story?
