Suspect Arrested For Firing Gun Into Moving Vehicle

BENSON – Detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with a recent shooting incident on Highway 210 near McGee’s Crossroads. Authorities said the incident was not random.

It started around 12:30am August 19 on Highway 210 at Highway 50. A 24 year-old Clayton man said he was in a parking lot talking with his girlfriend when a known acquaintance pulled up. The acquaintance allegedly pointed a handgun with a laser sight at him.

The victim got into his car and began to drive away as the suspect followed in another vehicle. While traveling down the highway a short distance away, a shot was fired into his vehicle, narrowly missing the victim.

The victim went to a location on Federal Road and reported the shooting.

Following an investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Tyrece Stanley, age 23, of Gurley’s Mill Road, Princeton was arrested September 8 and charged with discharging a firearm into occupied property, possession of a firearm by a felon, and assault by pointing a gun. Stanley was held under a $100,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.

The victim was not injured. A motive for the shooting has not been released.

  1. This was attempted murder, IMO, and should have gotten a much higher bail. However, If liberals had their way he would have been released without any bail at all I suppose so I suppose we should be grateful… Ha!

  2. I’m against police who abuse the law and I’m against civilians who brake the law. They all should be thrown in jail.
