Suspect Charged With Robbery, Assault

SMITHFIELD – A 49 year-old Smithfield man was arrested Sunday morning for an incident inside McDonald’s at 884 W. Market Street. Police said they were called to the location around 10:20am after the victim, Christopher DuBose, age 48, of Clayton reportedly told officers he was assaulted and his cell phone stolen.

Police arrested Anthony Lamont Kingsberry, of Barbour Road, Smithfield, at the scene. Kingsberry was charged with felony common law robbery and misdemeanor assault. Officers said the men knew one another.

DuBose sustained minor injuries.

Kingsberry was held on a $25,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.

  1. I wish the legal system would ban violent people like Anthony Lamont Kingsberry from walking into a McDonald’s or other eating establishment. Let them drive through

  2. Mr. Ed Freeman, we eat what and where we can afford. What exactly are you trying to say? As a child I had to hand over a breakfast and lunch toxen in our Johnston County Schools. Has your life proven to be more valuable than mine or has mine proven to be more valuable than yours?
