A Johnston County woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly stole the identity of a man who recently died.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a report recently from the man’s widow who said $5,000 in cash had been stolen and her dead husband’s identity had been used to open a credit card account.
Investigators have now charged Roxanne Felicia Aanenson, 54, of David Road, Wendell with identity theft, obtaining property by false pretenses and unlawfully obtaining a credit card. Authorities said Aanenson was acquainted with the female victim.
Aanenson is not facing any charges in connection with the $5,000 money theft which still remains under investigation.
Aanenson was arrested Oct. 6th and confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
