Suspect Tried To Defraud Walmart, JCSO Says

A man who allegedly tried to defraud Walmart was arrested and held on a $30,000 bond.

On December 28th around 1:15pm, deputies were dispatched to Walmart on Highway 42 West in Cleveland.

Officers allege the suspect, 31 year-old Justin Adam Ransom of Allison Circle, Angier went into the store and shoplifted several items. He took the merchandise to the Customer Service Desk and requested a refund for the merchandise. He was given a gift card which he reportedly used to pay for other items in the store.  The stolen items, including nasal spray and makeup, were recovered.

Ransom was charged with felony attempting to obtain property by false pretense and misdemeanor shoplifting.
