Johnston County deputies seized a number of items from a vehicle that fled from officers Monday night. Around 7:30pm, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle riding in a neighborhood off Sanders Road in the McGee’s Crossroads community.
Deputies arrived and located the vehicle, but when they tried to pull the car over the driver fled. Following a short chase, the suspect drove into the back yard of a home and fled on foot towards a creek. Officers were unable to find the driver.
A passenger in the vehicle, 23 year-old Haven Danielle Colson of Roundabout Drive, Garner, was reportedly found to have suspected methamphetamines, 1 gram of marijuana, prescription pills, and hypodermic needles in her possession. Colson was arrested on six drug offenses and held under a $10,000 bond.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the driver has been identified and warrants have been obtained for his arrest. The Ford Fiesta passenger car driven by the suspect was seized.
