Two Clayton teenagers are facing felony charges after their arrests during a traffic stop on Barber Mill Road.
A Johnston County Sheriff SAFE Team deputy stopped a Honda Accord around 11:00pm Saturday for a violation. After approaching the car, the deputy said he detected an odor of marijuana.
During a search of the car and the two occupants, a total of 13.5 ounces of high grade marijuana was located. A large but undisclosed amount of US cash was also seized from one suspect.
Desmond Tyrese Barnes, 19, of Avocet Lane, and Hysin Shakir King, 16, of Mayfair Court, were charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. Barnes, the driver of the car, was also charged with maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
Barnes was placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $25,000 bond. King was held under a $15,000 bond.
