Three Arrested Following Altercation Outside Business

Three people were arrested after police were called to a disturbance in the parking lot of the Super Discount Mini Mart at 2104 South Brightleaf Boulevard on Monday night.

Smithfield Police Chief Keith Powell said officers arrived on the scene and located the suspects. While attempting to take 22 year-old Tyneisha Eugena Smith of Kay Drive into custody she allegedly spit on an officer.

Smith was charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner, disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer.

Tykeria Price Smith, 24, of Kay Drive was charged with assault and resisting a public officer. Price-Smith was also wanted for failing to appear in Buncombe County Court in November 2012 for communicating threats and assault and for failing to appear in Johnston County Court in January 2015 on an unspecified charge.

Raymond Terrell Benjamin, 23, of Kay Drive was charged with assault on a female.
