Town Of Smithfield Spring Litter Sweep Scheduled For Saturday, April 23rd

The Town of Smithfield is currently in need of volunteers to help clean up trash along town roadways during the Spring Litter Sweep on Saturday, April 23rd, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Held in conjunction with the NCDOT Litter Sweep, volunteers will begin at three starting points across Smithfield:

  • Sarah Yard Community Center, 909 E. Lee Street
  • Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddie Park, 350 S. Front Street
  • Smithfield Community Park, 700 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway

During last year’s cleanup events, Adopt-A-Highway groups, NCDOT employees and volunteers from across the state removed almost 13,000,000 pounds of litter.

In addition with assisting in Smithfield’s Spring Litter Sweep, civic organizations, businesses, churches and other groups are encouraged to continue to serve by participating in our adopt-a-street program to help continually keep our roadways clean.
