Two people were arrested following a brief chase near Selma this week with a camouflage pickup truck.
Around 9:30am Tuesday, a SAFE Team deputy attempted to stop a camouflage Chevrolet truck on Batten Pond Road after noticing the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts.
After the officer activated his blue lights, the driver of the truck reportedly accelerated and attempted to elude arrest. A short distance away the drive finally stopped.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 53 year-old Willard Alps Grice of Moore Road, Kenly. The passenger was identified as 38 year-old Jennifer Rae Bass of Moore Road, Kenly.
Grice was charged with fleeing to elude arrest, driving on a revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $10,000 bond.
Bass was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and given a $500 bond.
Deputies impounded the truck and also seized hypodermic needles and empty Suboxone packages from the vehicle.
