Two Charged In Thefts From Three Towns

JOHNSTON COUNTY – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office says the arrests of two Clayton men has solved a rash of thefts over a period of several days in December 2021.

Jesse Matthew Woodall, age 33, of Lee Street, Clayton and Michael Alan Carroll, age 32, of Garrison Avenue, Clayton were arrested February 8, 2022.

Investigators allege the two men stole enclosed trailers, zero turn mowers, tools, a golf cart and ATV within days from the Benson, Clayton, and Four Oaks areas. Some of the stolen property was later recovered in Wake County. Some of the property has still not been located.

Woodall and Carroll were arrested on multiple counts of larceny and possession of stolen property. Carroll was held on a $60,000 secured bond. Woodall was incarcerated under a $290,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.
