Update: Second Arrest Made After Vehicles Intentionally Crashed, Burned

A second person is now accused of being involved in a bizarre incident last month on private property outside of Benson.

On October 17th,  firefighters and law enforcement officers found two vehicles wrecked head-on then set on fire in the 12700 block of Raleigh Road.

Authorities said they found a Mercury Sable passenger car and GMC Sierra pickup truck had been intentionally wrecked.  Afterwards both vehicles were set on fire and burned.  The truck and car had a combined value of $15,000. They were destroyed.

On Nov. 3rd, Stanley Ray Blackmon Sr., 55, of Raleigh Road, Benson was charged with felony conspiracy.

According to a copy of his arrest warrant, Blackmon conspired with Linda Cox Rollins to burn the personal property for insurance purposes.

Previously, Rollins, 50, of Grabtown Road, Smithfield was charged with felony burning personal property.

No injuries were reported.
