A Johnston County man was arrested last week after a package mailed from India was delivered to him. Authorities said the packaged contained Tramadol, Valium and Xanax pills.
The US Postal Inspection Service and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation that led to the May 14th arrest of 59 year-old Donald McLamb at his home in the 600 block of Penny Road, Angier.
Investigators said a package containing 167 prescription pills was delivered by the USPS to McLamb. Officers then moved in and arrested McLamb on a felony charge of possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a controlled substance.
According to the DEA, federal law prohibits buying controlled substances, sedatives, stimulants and anabolic steroids without a valid prescription from your doctor. According to the DEA website, it is also felony to import drugs into the United States and ship to a non-DEA registrant.
McLamb was released on a $2,500 bond.
