Vehicle Pursuit Ends At Suspect’s Home, JCSO Says

A brief car chase early Tuesday morning ended in the driveway of the suspect’s home.  A Johnston County deputy was monitoring traffic on Cleveland Road at Cornwallis Road when he saw a Ford SUV run through a red traffic light at the intersection.

The deputy said he attempted to stop the SUV but the driver accelerated and turned off the headlights.  The pursuit ends a short distance away after the suspect stopped at his home on Farrah Street.

William Soler III, 39, of Farrah Street, Garner surrendered without further incident.  Officers said Soler registered 0.12 on the Breathalyzer, above the legal limit of 0.08.

Soler was charged with driving while impaired and fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle.  He was released on a $2,500 secured bond.
