SELMA – A Virginia Beach man wanted by authorities in Virginia was held without bond after his arrest by deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
At 6:53am Friday, a SAFE Team deputy was traveling on Interstate 95 near Selma when he clocked a car speeding 100 miles per hour. The deputy pulled over the driver, later identified as 24 year-old Brandon Vidal Tomlin. A routine background check determined Tomlin was wanted in Virginia on an outstanding warrant for embezzlement.
Deputies said there was a 2 year-old child in Tomlin’s vehicle. During a search officers located a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Tomlin was held without bond on the fugitive embezzlement warrant. He was held on a $20,000 bond on charges of reckless driving to endanger, speeding, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse.
