A routine traffic stop for a moving violation led to the arrest of a man who recently failed to appear in court on felony charges.
Kevin Lamont Brown, 36, of the 14000 block of Highway 96 North, Zebulon was wanted after he reportedly failed to show up for a court date on felony charges of possession of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Around 2:00PM Monday, a Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on routine patrol on Wendell Road near Archer Lodge and stopped a vehicle. Brown was identified as the driver and was taken into custody on the two outstanding warrants.
During his arrest, deputies said they found cocaine and tramadol his possession.
Brown faces additional charges of felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated under a $65,000 secured bond.
