Wayne County Animal Shelter Temporarily Closed To Public Due To AC Issue

GOLDSBORO – The Wayne County Animal Shelter is temporarily closed to the public due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit in the public visitation area.

Facility Services is actively working to repair the affected AC unit. The Animal Shelter will reopen Saturday for public visitors.

In a news release officials stated, “We want to reassure the community that all animals housed at the shelter are safe and are being cared for. The issue is isolated to one unit and does not affect the kennel or housing areas. Extra fans have been brought in, and doors have been opened to maintain airflow and ensure the pets remain comfortable.”
