The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after an apparent argument led to the shooting of one person.
Around 12:30 this afternoon, deputies were dispatched to the 6500 block of Cedar Rail Rd., off Rock Quarry Road for a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, identified as William David Dawson, was transported to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through witness statements, deputies have identified Eric Paris, as a person of interest.
Before being transported to the hospital, the victim told deputies that his wife and Paris were involved in an altercation. When the victim tried to intervene, he was allegedly shot by Paris. Following the shooting, Paris fled the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
