Following a four-month investigation, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man allegedly responsible for a double-homicide that occurred last year.
Shortly after noon on November 3rd, 2020 the Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of two men found dead inside a Dodge Nitro at the 1200 block of Topping Lane in Knightdale. The victims, identified as Zavier Daniels and Aleek Bryant, both died from gunshot wounds.
Following extensive interviews, deputies identified and charged Saquan Urkal Ward, with two counts of murder. Witnesses told investigators that the suspect was the last person seen with the victims before the shooting.
Ward was already in custody in a North Carolina prison for a probation violation, when investigators served the murder warrants. Ward was booked into the Wake County Detention Center.
