Felony theft and narcotic charges have been filed against a 23 year-old woman after her arrest at Walmart at 5141 Highway 42 West in the Cleveland community.
On April 15th just after 11:00am, deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded after loss prevention personnel at the business reported a shopper had concealed multiple items in a bookbag that had also been shoplifted. The suspect, Adalyn Elisa Runyan of Durham, had reportedly paid for a few items but had not paid for 52 items valued at $319.51.
While placing Runyan in custody, a deputy allegedly found suspected methamphetamine in her possession.
Runyan was charged with three felonies: larceny by removing an anti-theft device, obtaining property by false pretense and possession of methamphetamine. Runyan was held on a $60,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail.
The stolen property was returned to Walmart.
