A Johnston County woman has been arrested after she reportedly lied to a court official.
Felicia Carberry, 31, of Campground Road, Selma was arrested Tuesday night by Selma Police on perjury charges, a serious felony offense.
Officials said Carberry had recently taken out a domestic violence restraining order against a man but last Friday went to the Johnston County Courthouse and ended the protection order. On Tuesday, Carberry reportedly went before a magistrate in an attempt to obtain a warrant against the same man for violating the restraining order.
Under oath, Carberry allegedly claimed someone else had forged her name on court paperwork last Friday ending the protection order. Following an investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies allege Carberry lied about the document being forged.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Carberry was still being held in the Johnston County Jail under a $35,000 bond.
