A western Johnston County woman who reported her home had been broken into last month is facing criminal charges.
On September 4th, deputies responded to a Landmark Road in the Willow Spring community after 31 year-old Jasmine Malloy told officers someone had entered her home and stolen several TV’s and a computer tablet.
Malloy said she left her home around 2pm that day to drive to Cary and when she returned she discovered the items missing.
During an investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, detectives reportedly discovered some of the stolen property at an area pawn shop. Officials allege Malloy pawned the items prior to calling deputies and claiming they were stolen by a burglar.
Malloy was arrested Friday and charged with filing a false report.
