Women Arrested At Local Motel

SMITHFIELD – Police arrested two women after responding to a welfare check at a local motel. Around 2:15pm Monday, Smithfield Police responded to a room at Becky’s Log Cabin on US 70 East.

Officers allegedly encountered two women who had small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in their possession.

Lisa Ann Matthews, 44, of Highway 70 East, Smithfield was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Matthews was held on a $15,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail.

Chelsa Alexander Harris, 30, of Whitebud Drive, Raleigh was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Harris was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $15,000 bond.

  1. Sad to see these girls strung out on drugs… They need to be taking care of there children if they have any instead up in a hotel getting high..
