Two women were arrested during a traffic stop outside of Benson. Around 10:30am Friday, a Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on patrol and stopped a silver Dodge SUV for a traffic violation in the 7700 block of Benson-Hardee Road.
The driver of the SUV, 35 year-old Cynthia Denise McLamb of Ideal Lane, Dunn had a revoked drivers license. McLamb gave the deputy permission to search the vehicle. During the search, 3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, glass pipe, cut straw, and drug paraphernalia was allegedly found.
McLamb was charged with possession of methamphetamines, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked license. She was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
A passenger, Angeline McKoy Ferguson, 48, of the same address, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Ferguson was incarcerated under a $5,000 bond. Deputies impounded the SUV.
