Law enforcement officers are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in a local motel room. Sunday afternoon, Johnston County deputies were called to the Super 8 Motel on Leone Court near the I-40 / Highway 42 intersection in Cleveland.
Officers found the body a female inside a room. The name of the woman has not been released pending notification of her next of kin.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said no foul play is suspected and the death does not appear to be suspicious. The medical examiner is assisting sheriff’s detectives determine the exact cause of death.
