One person was arrested after Clayton Police said they located a methamphetamine lab at a home on Saturday.
Officials said a woman arrived at Johnston Health in Clayton after she allegedly ingested some type of chemical. She was transferred to Duke Hospital where she is expected to recover.
When officers went to her home on Hobbs Street to investigate, they discovered evidence of methamphetamine being produced, according to Stacy Beard, Town of Clayton Public Information Officer. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division was called to the assist Clayton Police. An SBI hazardous materials team also responded to clean up the meth-making items.
William Troy Parnell III, 20, of Liberty Lane, Clayton was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possess-distribute meth precursors, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $120,000.
Beard said more people may be involved. Clayton Police are still investigating the incident. Photos by John Payne
