One person was killed and another seriously injured after being ejected from a motorcycle that collided with a van Thursday night. The accident happened around 8:00PM at the intersection of Lake Wendell Road and Medlin Road near Archer Lodge in northern Johnston County.
The operator of the motorcycle was ejected and died at the scene. The passenger was ejected and seriously injured. They were transported to Wake Med.
The Highway Patrol has not released the names of those involved.
Troopers believe speed may have been a contributing factor. They are also investigating a report the motorcycle may have been operating on the roadway without any lights.
The Archer Lodge Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, Johnston County Medical Examiner, and NC Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
