Authorities have not released the names of three people who were injured, one fatally, following an ATV accident early Saturday morning.
Authorities said the mishap was reported at 12:10am at Busco Beach, an ATV park and recreational riding facility on Bryan Boulevard in Wayne County.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says the victims were riding in a side-by-side utility vehicle when the 30 year-old male operator collided with a mound of dirt causing the utility vehicle to roll over.
Witnesses started CPR on the male victim however he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two female passengers, ages 29 and 30, were transported to Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro for their injuries.
The NC Highway Patrol is assisting the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office due to the crash involving a fatality.
Sheriff’s Major Richard Lewis said the names of those involved was being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
