1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured In Head On Collision

The NC Highway Patrol has identified a passenger who died in a head on collision at 12:20am Saturday in northern Johnston County.

The crash was reported on Highway 39 about three miles south of the Wake County line.

Troopers said a black Buick Encore was traveling northbound on Highway 39 by Brandon Boykin. A red Nissan Xterra was traveling south on Highway 39 driven by Eutiquio Flores.
Flores vehicle crossed the center line and struck Boykin’s Buick head on. Both vehicles ran off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. All the victims were pinned in their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire crews and first responders.

A passenger in the Buick, Sharon Boykin of Louisburg died at the scene.

Brandon Boykin was rushed to Wake Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries.
