One person died in a single vehicle accident Friday night in Johnston County.
The accident occurred on Covered Bridge Road just east of Archer Lodge.
Initial reports indicate a car was traveling eastbound when it ran off the roadway and struck a large tree. The driver, the only occupant in the vehicle, was ejected and died at the scene.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The name of the driver was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
