ANGIER – One person was seriously injured after a Ford passenger car slammed into a tree. The driver, the only occupant in the vehicle, had to be extricated from the managed wreckage before they were rushed to the hospital.
The single vehicle accident was reported at approximately 10:35am Monday on Old Fairground Road at Mac Lane, just off NC Highway 210.
Personnel from the 50-210 Fire Department extricated the driver from the wreckage before they were transported by Johnston County EMS to WakeMed.
Old Fairground Road was closed in both directions for about an hour before reopening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
