FOUR OAKS – A one year-old child is dead following a tragic drowning incident in a backyard pool. First responders were dispatched at 5:52pm Saturday to a residence in the 900 block of Berea Church Road off Highway 210.
Authorities said the young boy was found by family members face down in a pool. EMS personnel arrived on the scene and attempted life saving measures but the baby did not survive.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning. Authorities said Monday the incident was accidental. The name of the baby has not been released.
