Several pieces of expensive jewelry are missing from a Smithfield home and police are working to try and find who took the items.
Smithfield Police Chief Keith Powell says a detective has been assigned to investigate the theft of $102,900 worth of jewelry stolen from a South Second Street home sometime between April 5th and April 9th.
Among the items missing are a 1930 ring valued at $70,000. Other antique or rare jewelry items were valued from $2,400 to $8,500 each.
Chief Powell said there was no forced entry into the home.
